Each year interested students have the opportunity to try out for the Wentworth Ski Team which competes at the Secondary Schools’ Ski Championships in Queenstown.
Located just 15 minutes from Wentworth, residents on the Hibiscus Coast are very fortunate to have Snowplanet, ‘the Southern Hemisphere’s largest refrigerator”. Students, elite skiers and snowboarders have the opportunity to receive professional coaching and guidance. Snowplanet has a fantastic range of facilities and is the only one of its kind in New Zealand, open all year round. Wentworth students can compete in the North Island Ski and Snowboarding Championships held each year in Term Three.
Costs- Approximately $60 for the local Snowplanet competition and estimated $350 for North Island Championships (including accommodation).
