Entrance Requirements

New Entrants Years 10 – 13

We have an English Proficiency Entrance Requirement for new entrants starting in years 10 – 13. Students entering at Year 10 need to achieve upper A2, whilst students entering years 11-13 need to be at level B1 in the Cambridge English Common European Framework of Reference for Languages tests, which is a testing level used world-wide. Students need to sit the Cambridge English: Preliminary (PET) for Schools exam (if B1) or the Cambridge English: Key (KET) for Schools (A2). A list of overseas test centres are available here. For more information about Cambridge English Language Testing, click here. Year 10-13 students who wish to join us who do not meet the level A2/B1 entrance requirement can consider a pathway whereby the student studies at a language school full time, for up to 12 weeks, prior to starting with Wentworth College.

New Entrants Years 1 – 9

Students starting in years 1 – 9 do not need to be assessed in English as our strong ESOL programme will be able to bring students with low levels of English up to the required standards by the time they start their exam years.

Visas and Immigration

International Students at Wentworth College will be able to study here on a Foreign Fee Paying International Student Visa. These are renewed annually. Wentworth College are happy to arrange the renewal of the student visa each year, a small administration fee of $150 applies for this service.

Assistance with Student Visas: If you do not wish to have an agent represent your child, we will happily arrange the Immigration paperwork for you. (A small fee of $150 applies for this service.)

Guardianship Visas – New Zealand Immigration allow one parent to accompany a student on an annual guardianship visa. The child must live with this parent for the duration of their study at Wentworth College.
